This class was just at the law school, but a small seminar… after like four or five classes you realize here’s a guy who’s thought a lot about different stuff. ![]() What attracted you to taking Peter Thiel’s class?īlake Masters: The CS 183 class that I took the notes in was actually not the first class I took with Peter…I met him first in January 2011. What follows is a lightly edited excerpt of a conversation with Masters about Peter Thiel’s startup class, and how he went from being Thiel’s student to co-author. Now, Masters and Thiel have transformed those class notes into a book: “Zero to One: Notes on Startups, or How to Build the Future.” This fall, Y Combinator is teaching a class at Stanford called CS 183B, and it features Thiel as a guest speaker. One of the students in Thiel’s class, Blake Masters, posted detailed notes on his personal blog that became an instant hit in the tech community. In the spring of 2012, Peter Thiel taught a class called CS 183: Startup, at Stanford. ![]()

Raw Blue by Kirsty Eagar6/11/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() Just because she requires more than a nameless face for sex doesn't mean that everyone does. But also, she doesn't want to judge Mitch for his actions or the women he's been with for their decisions. To Jess, Mitch (Blondie) seems to be just another Knights guy-willing to use women for sex without sustaining a relationship with them first-and Jess wants to be more than that. Plus, the majority of their relationship lies in their conversations trying to understand one another. They'll be in a middle of a steamy scene and suddenly it'll get awkward or uncomfortable and it all felt so desperately real that I couldn't help but love each and every moment of this book. It's messy and isn't perfect, which I love. Jess and Blondie have a crazy relationship. But Jess is seen by Blondie, an arrogant Knights guy who she can't seem to get out of her head and when she encounters him again at the toga party, that's when the fun truly begins. ![]() The story opens with Jess, a Unity girl, sneaking onto the Knights campus to steal a Knights jersey-the prize for the Unity who humiliates a Knights man the most on the night of their annual toga party. Last year the Knights men made a bet to sleep with a Unity freshman and this year, the Unity girls are out for revenge. It's a story of two rival schools-Unity, co-ed, and Knights, all-male and distinctly elite. ![]() Summer Skin is the type of New Adult novel I've been waiting to be written a book that is sexy, passes the Bechdel test, and discusses feminism without shame or pretense. ![]()

In 2006, Aaron made a blind submission to DC/Vertigo, who published his first major work, the Vietnam War story The Other Side which was nominated for an Eisner Award for Best Miniseries, and which Aaron regards as the "second time" he broke into the industry.įollowing this, Vertigo asked him to pitch other ideas, which led to the series Scalped, a creator-owned series set on the fictional Prairie Rose Indian Reservation and published by DC/Vertigo. The story, which was published in Wolverine #175 (June 2002), gave him the opportunity to pitch subsequent ideas to editors. ![]() Aaron decided he wanted to write comics as a child, and though his father was skeptical when Aaron informed him of this aspiration, his mother took Aaron to drug stores, where he would purchase books from spinner racks, some of which he still owns today.Īaron's career in comics began in 2001 when he won a Marvel Comics talent search contest with an eight-page Wolverine back-up story script.
